Beats has launched the Beats 360, a new $349.99 over-ear headphone that combines a redesigned acoustic system with interchangeable ear and headband cushions. The model adds more customization and workout-friendly durability to the Beats lineup, while the existing Studio Pro remains available at a reduced $299.99 price.

Beats 360 can be ordered through Apple in the United States and more than 100 other countries and regions. Availability begins Thursday, September 24. The headphones ship with a woven ripstop carrying case and a color-matched Performance Knit cushion set.

Beats 360 sound and noise cancellation

Beats says the Beats 360 uses a completely new acoustic architecture compared with the Studio Pro. The company claims up to 1.75 times more active noise cancellation and a 12-decibel increase in output, while maintaining clarity across the frequency range with low distortion.

Active noise cancellation uses eight microphones to assess sound inside and outside the headphones. Users can also select Transparency mode to hear their surroundings. With both listening modes disabled, Adaptive EQ continually adjusts the acoustic performance.

The headphones support Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking on Apple platforms. This enables 360-degree Dolby Atmos sound that responds as the listener turns their head.

Interchangeable cushions and water resistance

Beats 360 is available in Black, Cloud, Pink, and Sky. Its removable Performance Knit memory foam cushions are designed to be breathable for exercise and other active uses. Separate Performance Knit kits are offered in those four colors, along with Volt and Navy.

Beats is also selling UltraPlush cushion kits in Black and Ivory. These use memory foam covered in engineered leather and provide a softer, more traditional feel. Sensors identify which cushion material is installed and automatically adjust acoustic tuning and noise-cancellation filtering to keep the listening experience consistent.

Both cushion styles cost $49.99, although a limited launch promotion reduces the price to $9.99 in select markets. Beats 360 is the company's first over-ear headphone with an IPX4 sweat and water-resistance rating. The removable cushions can also be taken off for cleaning.

Design, battery life, and connectivity

Rather than running multiple cables through the headband, Beats 360 uses two independent wireless earphones. Each side contains its own battery, antenna, and processing hardware, while the slimmer headband carries a single power cable between the earcups. Both batteries charge simultaneously through one USB-C port.

The headphones weigh just under 300 grams, similar to the Studio Pro, but Beats says the design places more of the weight in the cushions. The left earcup has the USB-C port, power button, and listening-mode button. The right side includes play/pause and volume controls, along with hands-free “Hey Siri” support.

Battery life reaches 32 hours with ANC enabled. A five-minute Fast Fuel charge provides up to one additional hour of playback.

Apple and Android features

Beats 360 uses Beats' fourth-generation proprietary platform. Apple users get one-touch pairing, automatic iCloud pairing and switching, Audio Sharing, and Find My support. Android users receive one-touch pairing, Audio Switch, and Find Hub geolocation features.

The headband does not fold, but the earcups twist flat for storage. The included woven ripstop case has a magnetic closure and a rear loop for attaching it to a finger or carabiner. Additional cushion kits, USB-C cables, and power adapters are sold separately.
