Apple has released the fourth developer beta of iOS 27.2, continuing testing of the upcoming iPhone software update one week after the third beta. Apple also issued a new beta of iPadOS 27.2.
The release is available to registered developers through the Software Update section in the Settings app. Developers can install it by opening Settings > General > Software Update, opting into beta updates, and selecting the iOS 27 developer beta.
What’s included in iOS 27.2
iOS 27.2 includes Apple’s redesigned Health app, which adds new Insight and Longevity tabs. The update also expands Siri AI with support for additional languages.
Apple has not detailed every change in the fourth beta, but iOS 27.2 contains several other new features beyond the Health app redesign and language support. The software remains in development, so features and release timing could change before the public version becomes available.
Why Apple is testing iOS 27.2 early
Apple’s beta schedule is notable because the company is testing iOS 27.2 before releasing an iOS 27.1 beta. The iPhone Duo is expected to ship with iOS 27.1, while Apple may be keeping some of that device’s features out of earlier software testing for a longer period.
Apple is scheduled to launch the iPhone Duo on October 23. The company previously said the new Siri AI languages would become available in October, making an iOS 27.2 release shortly after the phone’s launch a likely possibility. That timing has not been confirmed by Apple.
Other compatibility requirements
iOS 27.2 will also be required for the new HomeView. Apple has not provided a public release date for the full update in the information available with this beta.
As with all developer previews, the beta is intended for testing rather than everyday use. Developers can use the release to check app compatibility and prepare their software for the eventual iOS 27.2 launch.
