Apple has unveiled a new Apple TV 4K with an A19 chip, Siri AI support, faster wireless connectivity and expanded HomePod surround sound options. The company is also introducing an updated Siri Remote with Find My and Precision Finding support.

The new Apple TV 4K and Siri Remote are available to pre-order and are scheduled to launch on Friday, November 13. In the United States, the Apple TV costs $299 and includes the updated remote, while the remote is available separately for $59.

Apple TV 4K performance and connectivity

Apple says the A19-powered Apple TV 4K delivers up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to twice the graphics performance of the previous model, which used the A15 chip. The new model also adds Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, replacing Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 in the earlier version.

The device supports AV1 and VP9 video formats. Apple is offering only a 128GB configuration with an Ethernet port, removing the previous model's 64GB Wi-Fi-only option. The white status light has also moved to the center of the front edge.

The new Apple TV is around 1% heavier than its predecessor. The device is also expected to include 8GB of RAM, up from 4GB, although that specification has not yet been confirmed.

Siri AI comes to Apple TV

The new Apple TV 4K includes three built-in far-field microphones for hands-free Siri AI control. Users can still operate Siri through the remote if they prefer.

Questions involving personal context require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad. Apple also says Siri AI will come to the second- and third-generation Apple TV 4K models, released in 2021 and 2022, when they run tvOS 27.2 or later.

Four-HomePod surround sound

The new Apple TV 4K supports surround sound using four HomePods. Compatible setups include four HomePod mini 2 speakers or matching front and rear pairs made up of HomePod mini 2 and full-sized HomePod 2 speakers.

Previous Apple TV models remain limited to using two HomePods, making the expanded configuration a notable upgrade for owners building a larger Apple home theater system.

Siri Remote adds easier locating

The updated Siri Remote adds Find My and Precision Finding, making it easier to locate when misplaced. Precision Finding requires an iPhone 17 or newer, excluding the iPhone 17e, or an iPhone Air or iPhone Duo.

The remote also contains a built-in speaker that can play a sound while it is being located. It is around 6% heavier than the previous version and works with all Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD models released since 2015.
