Several major Android manufacturers have confirmed upcoming phones and tablets powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 family. The standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and higher-end 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 are set to appear in devices from Xiaomi, Honor, iQOO, vivo, RedMagic, OnePlus and Motorola.

The first announcements are concentrated around launches in China later this month. Xiaomi is scheduled to introduce its 18 series today, while Honor and iQOO have confirmed launches for September 28 and September 29, respectively.

Xiaomi, Honor and iQOO lead the first launches

Xiaomi’s upcoming lineup will use both versions of the new processor. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is set to use the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will receive the more powerful Elite Extreme Gen 6 variant.

Honor will use the Extreme chip in its Magic9 Pro Max, which is scheduled to launch on September 28. The device is positioned among the first Android phones announced with Qualcomm’s highest-end processor in this generation.

iQOO has also confirmed the Elite Extreme Gen 6 for both the iQOO 16 smartphone and the Pad Ultra tablet. Those products are due to launch on September 29, giving the chip an early presence beyond smartphones.

More Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 devices are coming

vivo said future phones from the brand will use the flagship Snapdragon chip, although it has not identified specific models in the announcement. The confirmation suggests the processor will appear across more than one device family within vivo’s wider product lineup.

RedMagic is preparing the 12Pro+, which will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and is scheduled to launch in October. The gaming-focused brand’s inclusion adds another performance-oriented handset to the early list of devices using Qualcomm’s top variant.

OnePlus and Motorola confirm their next flagships

OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will feature the Elite version of the new Snapdragon processor. The announcement does not specify whether the phone will use the standard or Extreme model beyond identifying it as part of the Elite series.

Motorola’s Signature 27, expected later this year, will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Together, the OnePlus and Motorola confirmations extend Qualcomm’s new flagship platform to two more major Android brands.

The broad list of early adopters gives buyers a preview of the next wave of high-end Android hardware. Exact specifications, pricing and regional availability for the individual devices have not been provided in the announcements.
