nubia has officially launched the NaviX Ultra in China, positioning the phone around an agentic AI assistant that can plan tasks, recover from errors and work across third-party apps. The device also combines the AI features with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a large 7,100mAh battery and a high-refresh-rate OLED display.

The phone’s main software feature is the Doubao Mobile Assistant, integrated into Nebula AIOS 2. nubia says the assistant can break complicated requests into smaller steps, correct itself when a task encounters a problem and maintain context during longer operations. It can also apply knowledge from one app to an unfamiliar task, which the company describes as generalization.

How the NaviX Ultra’s AI assistant works

A fingerprint-equipped physical button serves as the phone’s dedicated AI key. A tap opens a prompt window, while a long press activates voice commands. Double-tapping starts a video conversation with Doubao, allowing users to show the assistant objects or scenes through the phone’s cameras.

Doubao supports text, images, audio and video. A continuous-dialogue mode is available in beta for more natural back-and-forth conversations, while a task widget lets users monitor longer-running jobs. The assistant can also rearrange its work queue, or let users manually prioritise tasks.

Its integrations extend beyond nubia’s own applications. The assistant can work with Lark, CaoCao Mobility, the phone’s map application and online music services, including by calling online-service APIs. Other capabilities include handling incoming calls with response scripts, transcribing voice notes, searching screenshots and identifying products displayed on the screen.
