Apple's iPhone Handoff feature in iOS 27 is expanding to more mobile networks. The company said last week that Verizon and EE will support the capability later this year, broadening availability beyond the first carriers to offer it.

What iPhone Handoff does

The feature lets users switch between any two iPhones running iOS 27 while keeping the same phone number active on each device. That means calls and messages tied to a single number can move seamlessly between two handsets, without needing to physically swap a SIM or transfer a plan each time.

Which carriers support it

iPhone Handoff launched with support from a limited set of networks. In the United States, T-Mobile was among the first to enable it, and the carrier is charging $5 per month for the capability. In Europe, Deutsche Telekom was an early supporter.

With Apple's latest announcement, Verizon and the UK's EE are now confirmed to join the list later this year. Apple has not detailed whether the additional carriers will charge for the feature or offer it at no extra cost, and pricing may vary by network.
