Disney has raised the monthly prices of several Disney+ and Hulu plans, making standalone ad-free subscriptions $21.49 per month. The latest increase arrives one year after the company’s previous streaming price hike and applies to new subscribers immediately, while existing customers will see the change on their next monthly bill.

Ad-free Disney+ and Hulu plans each increased by $2.50, from $18.99 to $21.49. Their ad-supported plans rose by 50 cents, from $11.99 to $12.49. Disney has left its ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle at $12.99, making it only 50 cents more expensive than either standalone ad-supported service.

Disney+ and Hulu subscription prices

  • Disney+ with ads: $12.49 per month, up from $11.99
  • Disney+ without ads: $21.49 per month, up from $18.99
  • Hulu with ads: $12.49 per month, up from $11.99
  • Hulu without ads: $21.49 per month, up from $18.99
  • Disney+ and Hulu with ads: $12.99 per month, unchanged
  • Disney+ and Hulu without ads: $21.99 per month, up from $19.99

The pricing gap between a standalone service and the equivalent bundle is now especially narrow. Customers choosing either ad-supported Disney+ or Hulu pay just 50 cents less than the $12.99 combined plan. The ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle costs $21.99, only 50 cents more than a single ad-free service.

ESPN and HBO Max bundles also cost more

Disney has also increased prices for bundles that include ESPN or HBO Max. The Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN bundle with ads now costs $21.99 per month, compared with $19.99 previously. The version combining ad-free Disney+ and Hulu with ESPN Select, which includes ads, now costs $32.99, up from $29.99.

Plans combining Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max Basic have also increased. The ad-supported version is now $21.99 per month, up from $19.99, while the ad-free option costs $34.99, compared with $32.99 before.

Disney continues shifting viewers toward bundles

The unchanged price of the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle gives customers a stronger financial reason to choose it over a standalone subscription. Disney has been combining Hulu content within the Disney+ app as it develops a more unified streaming experience, making the bundles more central to its strategy.

Disney+ launched in November 2019 at $6.99 per month without advertising. Disney introduced its first ad-supported tier in 2022. At $21.49, the current ad-free price is more than three times the original monthly rate, representing an increase of over 200% in less than seven years.

Price increases have become common across major streaming platforms. Apple’s streaming service launched at $4.99 per month around the same period as Disney+ and now costs $14.99. Netflix and HBO Max have also raised prices regularly.
