Early launch discounts have arrived for Apple’s latest Mac mini and Mac Studio models, with Amazon cutting prices by as much as $49 on selected configurations. A separate B&H Photo promotion reduces Samsung’s 4TB T7 Shield Portable SSD by $680 for a limited time.

Mac mini discounts reach $29

The entry-level Mac mini with an M6 chip, 16GB of memory, and a 256GB SSD is available from Amazon for $879.99, down from $899. That represents a $19 saving.

A Mac mini configuration with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD costs $1,069.99, reduced from $1,099. Buyers choosing the larger storage option save $29.

Apple says the M6 Mac mini can deliver up to 40% faster CPU performance than the previous-generation model with a 10-core M4 chip, 32GB of unified memory, and 2TB of storage. The company also claims up to four times faster performance for AI workloads, twice the graphics performance, and twice the storage speed.

Mac Studio drops to $2,449.99

Amazon’s largest listed Apple discount applies to the Mac Studio with an M5 Max chip, 36GB of memory, and a 512GB SSD. Its current price is $2,449.99, compared with a regular price of $2,499, saving $49.

These are the first post-launch price reductions listed for the new desktop models. As with other retailer promotions, prices and availability can change.

Samsung 4TB portable SSD gets a major cut

For additional storage, B&H Photo is offering Samsung’s 4TB T7 Shield Portable SSD for $464.99, down from $1,144.99. The promotion represents a $680 reduction and is described as available for one day only.

The portable drive could complement either Apple desktop, particularly for users who need more space for large media libraries, project files, or backups. The offer is notable because storage prices have been rising this year, although the retailer may limit its availability or change the price before the promotion ends.
